The purpose of this study is to video and translate Folk Tales local to Uganda, specifically areas around the Bugabo Village, which is located about 20 miles North of Kampala in the Luweero District.As preparation for this study, I will be reading many books that assimilate me to Myth in general, to the motifs inherent in Folk Tales, and to the langauges that are spoken in and around this region.
My first two places of study are currently reading "The Power of Myth" and exploring S. Thompson's Motif Index presented online in the S. Thompson Motif-Index of Folk-Literature.
